Re: cloud to ground to cloud super heros
Oh....I think you need to compare yourself with the competition to get a better idea of where you are within the industry, but to use the same tools and technology as them doesn't seem to be needed. It could be helpful it you're trying to keep up with them, but there could be other reasons that you go out on your own and cut your own path.

Yes, the cloud is a moving target, SaaS included.

Re: cloud to ground to cloud super heros
Thanks, John. I went through their website in detail later and was surprised to find most offerings there. Doesn't seem like they've left out any popular service and even if they have I'm sure they'd be quick to come up with more as they're already ahead of the competition.

Re: cloud to ground to cloud super heros
scucci - this sounds good but to get down to the details, don't you think it is somewhat difficult to determine if you are doing as well or better than the competition? I don't know if I would want the same back office as my competition. Pros and cons.

Anyone else have an opinion?

I think it works pretty well, and I think it connects many different SaaS offerings, @Munira. It looks as if MuleSoft has done its homework. The connectors don't need so much customization, I don't think; they are ready to use with well-known SaaS offerings.

Chris, thanks for the info. I'd like to know how many connectors simultaneously can be used and what effect will it have as a whole?

John, sharing open source style is a good idea. I wonder what kind of customization is available with these connectors. Is the integration platform sufficient for all kinds of needs or what kind of innovations are required? I don't know much about this area but am curious to know how well the integration will work while using different apps.

I don't think we care if we're using the same tools as our vendors as long as we get similar or better results.

Before I forget, I should thank Mr. Purpura for joining us here on the message boards. He kindly spent much time on the phone explaining MuleSoft and MuleiOn to me, and it is good to see his comments here.

Re: cloud to ground to cloud super heros
Well, there's our answer, from the man himself: more than 100 connectors. That certainly should be enough to keep most customers happy and moving forward.

Next question: Is the MuleiON service itself open source. Will customers be invited to contribute their own connectors, developed for their own purposes but perhaps useful to others like themselve?

Indeed, this a larger question that has occurred to me: Can SaaS be open sourced? Do the two models match up?
